Shivaraj Kumar or Shivarajkumar (born Putta Swamy on 12 July 1962) is an Indian film actor, producer, playback singer, philanthropist and television presenter best known for his work in Kannada cinema He is the oldest son of the Kannada thespian Dr. Rajkumar. During his career spanning more than three decades, Kumar has acted in more than 100 films.
After graduating in Bachelor of Science (Chemistry), Kumar made his debut screen appearance in Singeetham Srinivas Rao's Anand (1986). His first three movies Anand, Rathasapthami and Mana Mechchida Hudugi all completed Silver Jubilee thus earning him the title Hatrick Hero – Shivaraj Kumar. His movies such as Jogi and Om are considered cult milestones and biggest blockbusters in the Kannada film industry. He starred in the movie Sugreeva which was shot in 18 hours. He is a brand ambassador for Kalyan Jewellers.
Shivarajkumar was born in Gajanur, Karnataka, the son of Rajkumar, a celebrated actor and Parvatamma, a big-budget film producer. He has two sisters and two brothers; his younger brother, Raghavendra Rajkumar is a film producer and a film actor and his youngest brother, Puneet Rajkumar is also a leading Kannada film actor.
