The Government of Tamil Nadu, based in Chennai, is the governing authority for the Indian State of Tamil Nadu. It is seated at the Fort St. George. Tamil Nadu had a bicameral legislature until 1986, when it was replaced with a unicameral legislature, like most other states in India.
The Governor is the constitutional head of the state while the Chief minister is the head of the government and heads the council of ministers. The Chief Justice of the Madras High Court is the head of the judiciary.
Presently K. Rosaiah and J. Jayalalithaa are the Governor and Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu respectively. Rajesh Kumar Agrawal is the current Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.
